Dutch IR Awards 2022

The Netherlands Association for Investor Relations (NEVIR) awarded the 2022 Dutch IR Awards last Thursday, 30 June.

For the fifteenth consecutive year, prizes were awarded to Dutch listed companies and IR professionals who excel in Investor Relations. NEVIR is the professional representative body and advocacy organization for investor relations officers at Dutch listed companies.

25th listing anniversary Brunel

Brunel, founded by Jan Brand in 1975, celebrated its 25th listing anniversary today on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange. Gita Naigi,

Gong ceremony – The Next Web Conference

On 16 and 17 June, the TNW Conference will take place in Amsterdam. TNW is seen as the two-day technology event where (future) leaders from the Dutch FinTech ecosystem come together to share insights and experiences.

On the occasion of this special FinTech event, Myrthe van Erve, CEO of TNW, opened another trading day at Euronext Amsterdam today during a gong ceremony.

Gong ceremony – Basic Course in Financial Journalism

Every year the four-day Basic Course in Financial Journalism is organised, in which experts from the financial and academic world update journalists on a large number of current financial topics. As in previous years, one of these course days will take place at Beursplein 5, at the invitation of Euronext Amsterdam. This day will discuss, among other things, the organization and impact of financial markets and underlying products. To mark the occasion, a delegation of participants opened the trading day this morning during a traditional gong ceremony. Gong ceremony – Unibail Rodamco Westfield’s Fourth Listing Anniversary

In honor of the 4th anniversary of the listing of Unibail- Rodamco- Westfield on Euronext Amsterdam and Paris, Gerard Sieben, CFO of Unibail Rodamco Westfield opened the trading day by sounding the gong. Gong ceremony – 65th listing anniversary of KLM

On 3 June, 1957, Dutch airline KLM listed on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.

Today, 65 years later, Erik Swelheim, Managing Director and CFO of KLM, sounded the gong again together with his team to celebrate this anniversary.

Stijn van Ooijen, Chairman of the Board of Philips Innovation Award, sounded the gong this morning.

The Philips Innovation Award is the biggest Dutch award programme for student entrepreneurs, which coaches and helps students to further develop their startup or idea. In this way they help young companies innovate the Dutch market.

This morning, Willem Burgers, Founder and former Fund Manager of Add Value Fund, sounded the gong on the occasion of their 15^th anniversary.

ACTIAM

Since 1994, asset manager ACTIAM has surveyed more than a hundred stock market experts every year about their expectations for the AEX Index and what they think will be the best and worst stock in the upcoming year. The expert with the most accurate predictions is awarded the title of best stock market expert.

This year, the winner was Edwin van der Plas, Senior Investment Advisor at Aureus, who opened trading on the stock exchange by sounding the gong.

Gong ceremony – Launch of AEX® ESG Index

As of today, investors can invest in the AEX^® ESG Index. This latest addition to the AEX Indices Family identifies the 25 companies from the AEX^® and AMX^® Indices that are the best rated in the field of ESG (Environment, Social and Governance). It is the fourth ESG Index to be launched by Euronext in a short period of time. With the launch of this new ESG Index, Euronext is responding to the growing demand for sustainable investment instruments among investors and the market in general. To mark this launch, representatives of the AEX Steering Committee, Eumedion, NNIP, APT, Sustainalytics and Euronext sounded the gong this morning in the presence of Simone Huis in ‘t Veld (CEO of Euronext Amsterdam) and René van Vlerken (Head of Listings Euronext Amsterdam).

Vereniging Rembrandt and Rembrandtje Chocolate Coins

This morning, a new trading day was opened on the Amsterdam stock Exchange in the presence of Rembrandtje Chocolate Coins, one of the permanent cooperation partners of Euronext Amsterdam, and the Rembrandt Association. The Rembrandt Association is committed to protecting and strengthening Dutch public art collections. For example, in January 2022, Rembrandt’s ‘The Standarda Bearer’ (‘De Vaandeldrager’) was purchased with the support of this association, the most important work by the painter Rembrandt that was still in private hands, according to experts. To mark this occasion, Fusien Bijl de Vroe, Director of the Rembrandt Association, and Alexandra Hutter, founder of Rembrandtje Chocolate Coins, sounded the gong together. The group was welcomed by Rauke Wouda, Senior Product Developer at Euronext Amsterdam.

Young Captain Award Netherlands

Ivo Steffens, Director of Commerce and Lead Com-IT of the Dutch Railways, NS, was elected Young Captain 2021 yesterday evening. To celebrate his award, Steffens opened the trading day by sounding the gong.

This was the 17^th year of the award, which is presented to the most talented and young business leader on their way to the top of the business world.

The annual Young Captain Award allows the Young Captain Netherlands Foundation to raise the public profile of the next generation of decision-makers from the leading Dutch business community at an early stage of their careers.
